Mixtape

ELSEWHERE began with a mixtape. In spring 2009, we searched through the archive of the FMA, a groundbreaking resource of some of the most exciting contemporary and, in some cases, ancient music pulled from the vaults of various record labels, radio stations and assorted curators. From there we found a group of tracks that would inform the characters and the narrative of the film.

We created a mixtape, which is central to Nick and Cath’s journey – a number of the songs contained are heard within the film and the physical tape itself is an ever present object. The sleeve art was designed for us by Nick Scott.
